Angels of the Invisible Front

The photographs in this collection document the week leading up to the thousandth day of war in Ukraine. At its height, 7.71 million people were recorded to have been displaced as a result of the conflict. These are the stories of those who remained or returned to the Mykoliav-Oblast region of southern Ukraine, ground that has been at the heart of the struggle since the beginning of the war on the 24th of February 2022.

These photographs are part of a larger assignment documenting the effect of war on children carried out in conjunction with ChildVoice, an international NGO dedicated to restoring the hope and lives of adolescents displaced and traumatized by war and exploitation.

Tze-Hung Seeto is an international documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
